PERSONAL

Sidney chose this path by following examples in her family.  She was born and raised in the Yakima Valley, and her father Homer worked as an attorney as well.  He was very well known in his community, and to honor him she still carries his briefcase and holds a special place in her heart for the underdog.  Sidney’s grandfather is Andrew Jackson Splawn.  He was an early pioneer, a cattleman, congressman and mayor.  He also wrote the book Kamiakin: Chief of the Yakimas.  Sidney continues to use the Splawn name to show respect to her family.

Sidney has been married to her husband Scott for almost 25 years.  They have both trained and shown horses all their lives, and have even won many regional and national championships in the Arabian horse show circuit.  Sidney also rescued dogs on her and Scott’s ranch outside of Yakima for more than twenty yeFor over twenty years, Sidney rescued dogs on the couple’s ranch outside of Yakima.
